RAHA COLLEGE, established in 1964, is located in an idyllic
setting, fit for, academic pursuit, and is only 2km away from the
heart of Raha town. It is the only deficit degree college in the
Raha constituency reserved for S.C. The college is permanently
affiliated to Gauhati University (G.U.) to impart higher education
upto T.D.C. Part - III ( Major) in Arts stream.
The college was accredited by the National
Assessment and Accreditation Council ( NAAC )Iast year and was
awarded C++ grade.
The college came under the Assam College Employees (Provincialisation)
Act. in 2005. and is managed by a Governing Body Constituted by the
Govt. of Assam as per provision of the Assam Non Govt. Colleges
Management Rules, 2001.The College has conducted several national
and state level seminers of repute in the last few years.
The college campus consists of a well equipped library, reading
room, computer lab, gymnasium hostel, a big play ground beside the
administrative offices, departments classrooms, canteen etc. The
college auditorium cum indoor stadium is under construction and is
expected to be completed within a very short time.
The high hopes and zealous efforts of people like late Mahendra
Hazarika and others were answered to by succeeding batches of
students and a set of dedicated and ideal teachers. The serene
ambiance coupled with stunning green field all around makes this
institute one of the most beautiful educational landmarks in the
state.
Aims and Objective of the College:
The primary aim of the college is to impart quality higher education
in the discipline of Arts and Vocational students with a fresh,
strong and liberal vision of life that would enable them to face the
challenge of life with greater confidence and poise. Another
important objective of the college is to inculcate the spirit of
inquiry among the students and to instill in them the spirit of
patriotism, dedication and humanistic values.

Raha College, the only educational institution of higher education
under Raha Legislative Assembly Constituency was established in the
year 1964. Since its inception, the college caters to the needs of
achieving higher education of a larger number of students belonging
to weaker sections of greater Raha. Many competent Ex-students of
this college are now serving in various fields of activities in
Assam and India bringing glory to Raha College. Although Raha
College has only one faculty i.e ARTS, the college can be considered
as a full-fledged one, in so far as building, well-equipped library,
hostel, computer and running water facilities are concerned. The
cultural achievements of the college is also outstanding.
I hope the college will be able to prosper in all respects in future
with the active participation & co-operation of the teachers,
employees, students of the college and well wishers of the greater
locality.
